Get ready to read, explore, and have fun this summer! The 2026 Attorney McClure Summer Reading Program encourages students to discover new books, track their reading minutes, and aim for exciting prizes.
For 1st–6th Grade Students in Houston, Pasadena, and Nearby Areas
The Prizes
We’re turning reading into a race worth joining:
Grand Prize: Brand-new bicycle
1st Place: $25 Gift Card per Grade
Disclaimer: The Grand Prize winner will not receive a $25 gift card. The second top reader from that winner’s grade will receive the $25 gift card instead
Who Can Join?
This program is open to all 1st through 6th grade students living in the Greater Houston Area.
No matter your child’s reading level, this challenge helps them grow, have fun, and maybe even win big!

Log every minute your child reads between June 1st- August 1st
The top readers with the most logged minutes win big!
All reading counts—chapter books, audiobooks, graphic novels, reading aloud—if your child is reading, we’re counting it.
