Who can be named a Defendant in a lawsuit?
A Defendant could be the person who caused the wreck, could be the owner of the car, could be the employer of the driver or some other type of entity or person, depending on the situation. A Petition (the document that sets out the reason for the lawsuit) will set out very general facts to establish the proper court for the lawsuit as well as facts showing how the Defendant was negligent and how such negligence caused the injuries, medical treatment and medical bills of the Plaintiff.

In an effort to reduce waste, save money, and build deeper connections, the Buy Nothing Project has grown into hundreds of different local groups all over the country. Members are invited to post anything that they’d like to give away, lend, or share among neighbors, as well as post needs that may come up, all in closed Facebook groups. For example, one woman posted that members are welcome to come pick apples from her orchard at no cost. A father posted that he needed doll clothes for his daughter’s toys. It costs nothing to join and it truly does help build community. Houston has a handful of neighborhood groups and it is even possible to start one of your own, if you meet basic criteria.
