Traumatic Brain Injuries Common After Refinery Accident
There is a lot of money to be made in the gas and oil industry, which can explain why companies try to skirt safety in order to avoid slowing down production. This is extremely risky and time and time again we see workers suffering, especially traumatic brain injuries. Explosions, falling equipment, or even being struck in the head by debris can all contribute to serious, debilitating traumatic brain injuries that can leave a worker in a coma or worse, which is why we urge anyone with these types of injuries to learn their legal rights by contacting an attorney. The most common term we use for Traumatic Brain Injury is “concussion” and concussions are probably one of the least reported, least treated and least understood injuries because the symptoms can be hidden or dismissed. Some of the common symptoms are: Fatigue, Headaches, Visual Problems, Memory Loss, Sleep Disturbances, Dizziness and Irritability. If you have had any type of impact to your head, be sure to be on the lookout for these types of problems.
Helpful chart shows how much most people have saved for retirement based on their generation – and it ain’t pretty
It’s never too early to save for retirement and we are trying to teach our own kids about the value of money earlier than our own parents did! In fact, I just spoke with Nathan this morning about the importance of starting early because of the strong arm of interest. However, according to this chart by Money Magazine, there is a serious deficit and people are not saving near enough for retirement. Unfortunately, schools are not teaching financial strategy and people are left to learn on their own, which often means that they do nothing. With all of the free information available on the internet, including Retirement Calculators, I highly suggest taking an afternoon to see how you are doing financially and what you can do to improve your financial information.
Insurance company trick of the week –The adjuster is extremely kind and sounds worried about your condition
This is a tactic to get you to trust him. He may say things like, “I’m so sorry to hear what you are going through,” or “I am going to do everything in my power to make this right,” or “Don’t worry, we are going to get everything squared away as quickly as possible.” It is easy to appreciate what seems like a genuine tone of voice and a genuine desire to help … but take it with a grain of salt. At the end of the day, that adjuster’s sole job is to save his company as much money as possible, which means giving you as little as possible.
